What you're owed vs. what you got paid.

Overtime Log — Hours & Pay — What you're owed vs. what you got paid.

Overtime Log is a personal hours and overtime log for hourly workers who want to know whether their pay is right: nurses and carers on rotating shifts, restaurant and retail staff, temps, part-time students, people with more than one job. Clock in or add shifts later, including split shifts and night shifts across midnight. Overtime Log applies the rules of your own contract — hourly rate with a start date, daily and weekly overtime, night, Sunday and holiday premiums — shows the gross you are owed line by line, then compares it with the gross on your pay stub. No account, no ads, free iCloud sync.

Features

Clock in, or add shifts later

One tap to clock in and out, from the app, a widget or the Live Activity on the Lock Screen. Forgot? Add or correct the shift afterwards.

Split shifts and nights over midnight

Several breaks per shift, paid or unpaid. A split shift reads on one line; a night shift that crosses midnight stays on the day it started.

Your own overtime rules

Daily and weekly overtime thresholds with the multipliers in your contract. Nothing is preset by country: the rules come from you.

Night, Sunday and holiday premiums

Create premiums for a time range, days of the week or public holidays, for free. With Overtime Log Pro, their amounts are included in what you are owed.

Owed vs. Paid

Enter the gross amount from your pay stub and see the gap, with questions that help explain it: hours missing, overtime paid at the normal rate, a premium left out. Your first comparison is free.

Rates with a start date

A raise starts on the date you choose and never rewrites past weeks. "Why this amount?" shows every total line by line, with the rate applied.

Timesheets in PDF and CSV

With Overtime Log Pro: a PDF timesheet per pay period, day by day, with breaks, overtime and premiums, plus CSV files of your shifts and periods.

Private by design

No account, no ads, no tracking. Your records stay on your device and sync through your own iCloud account, free.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Overtime Log?

Overtime Log — Hours & Pay is a personal hours and overtime tracker for iPhone and iPad. Hourly workers log their real shifts, enter the rules of their own contract, and see the gross pay they are owed, then compare it with the gross amount on their pay stub.

How can I check whether my overtime was paid correctly?

Log your shifts in Overtime Log, set your overtime thresholds and premiums as written in your contract, then enter the gross amount from your pay stub. The app shows the gap between what you are owed and what you were paid, and suggests where it may come from: hours missing from the stub, overtime paid at the normal rate, or a premium left out.

Does Overtime Log calculate night, Sunday and holiday premiums?

Yes, using the premiums you set up yourself: a time range, days of the week or public holidays, as a percentage or an amount per hour. Creating them is free; their amounts are included in what you are owed with Overtime Log Pro. The app has no built-in table by country, because premiums come from each contract or collective agreement.

Can Overtime Log handle split shifts and night shifts that cross midnight?

Yes. A shift can have several breaks, paid or unpaid, a split shift reads on a single line, and a night shift that crosses midnight is kept on the day it started, with daylight-saving changes taken into account.

What happens to past weeks when my hourly rate changes?

Nothing. In Overtime Log, a new rate starts on the date you choose and a shift is paid at the rate of the day it starts, so a raise never rewrites past pay periods. Correcting a rate that was wrong is a separate action, and the app shows which periods it changes before saving.

How much does Overtime Log cost?

Overtime Log is free to download. The free version covers one job, unlimited shifts, overtime, the current pay period, widgets, iCloud sync and one full Owed vs. Paid comparison. Overtime Log Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, with the price shown on the App Store, that adds several jobs, the full history, Owed vs. Paid on every pay period, premium amounts and PDF and CSV exports. There is no subscription.

Is Overtime Log an official record of working time?

No. Overtime Log is a personal record built from what you enter. Its amounts are estimates based on your own rules, not a legal or employer time record. If the gap with your pay stub stays unexplained, check it with your employer.

Is my pay data private in Overtime Log?

Yes. Overtime Log needs no account and contains no ads, analytics or tracking. Calculations run on your device, and your records sync through your own iCloud account for free. The developer has no server that receives your shifts or pay amounts.

Which devices and languages does Overtime Log support?

Overtime Log runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later. It is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish and Traditional Chinese.
