Privacy Policy — CaseBack
Last updated: August 1, 2026
CaseBack ("the App") is developed by Alex Masure. This policy explains how the App handles your data. In short: no account, no ads, no tracking — your collection stays on your device.
1. Data Collection
CaseBack does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers operated by the developer.
No account creation or registration is required. The App makes no network calls other than system Apple services you choose to use (CloudKit for optional iCloud sync, and StoreKit for in-app purchases).
Data you enter may include: watches (brand, model, reference, serial number), photos, purchase prices and values, wear log, service history, straps, warranties, notes, and wishlist items.
2. Local Storage
Your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, in an App Group container shared with the CaseBack widget.
All processing happens on-device. The developer has no access to the content you add to the App.
3. iCloud Sync
Optional iCloud sync is available as a CaseBack Pro feature and is off unless you enable it.
When enabled, your data syncs through your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit private database (iCloud.com.lexa.caseback). Sync is managed by Apple. The developer cannot access your iCloud account or synced data.
4. Permissions
Camera (iOS): to photograph your watches. Photos are stored locally within the App.
Face ID / Touch ID: optional local lock. Biometric authentication is handled by iOS; no biometric data is accessible to or stored by the App.
Notifications: local service reminders only. No remote push server is involved.
Widgets (WidgetKit) and Shortcuts (AppIntents) may display or act on data already stored on your device.
CaseBack does not use HealthKit, Live Activities, Apple Watch, OCR, or on-device machine learning models beyond standard system frameworks listed above.
5. Analytics, Ads, and Tracking
CaseBack contains no advertisements.
CaseBack integrates no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
No App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt is shown and no advertising identifier (IDFA) is used.
6. In-App Purchases
CaseBack offers a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase ("CaseBack Pro") that unlocks premium features such as multiple collections, value history, full wear statistics, insurance export, wishlist, strap inventory, warranty tracking, custom reminders, iCloud sync, and themes.
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. The developer does not receive or store your payment information. Pricing is displayed in the App via the App Store and may vary by region.
There are no subscriptions or recurring charges. You can restore purchases via the Restore Purchases option in the App.
7. Exports and Sharing
You may export your data as CSV or PDF. Exports are generated on your device and shared only through the system share sheet when you choose to do so.
The developer does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
8. Third-Party Services
CaseBack uses no third-party SDKs. Only Apple system frameworks are used for purchases and optional sync:
9. Children's Privacy
CaseBack is rated for a general audience (4+) and contains no sensitive content. It is not directed at children under 13.
The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
